The Teijin Group announced today that its three polyester fibre and textile subsidiaries, Teijin Fibers Limited, Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Limited and Thai Namsiri Intertex Co., Ltd., will participate in the Bangkok International Fashion Fair & Bangkok International Leather Fair 2011 (BIFF & BIL 2012).

Thailand’s largest fashion trade show will take place at Challenger 2, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, in Nonthaburi Province from June 24 to July 1.

The Teijin exhibit will showcase the group’s growing initiatives for the global fashion market, presenting a range of functional materials manufactured at the Teijin Group’s technology-driven production bases in Japan and Thailand and sold worldwide.

Teijin exhibits

  • Polyester fabric for work uniforms and business clothing with significantly improved ventilation to achieve lower temperatures inside the clothing and greater comfort.
  • Stain-resistant polyester fabric that offers both water absorption to eliminate stickiness and oil repellency to resist oil-based soiling.
  • Polyester fibre with a unique, highly modified cross-section with eight projections aligned in a radial pattern around a hollow fibre, which offers rapid sweat absorption and drying, low weight, heat shielding/insulation and voluminous qualities. Women’s clothing applications will be introduced.
  • High-strength polyester nanofibre with an unprecedented thickness of just 700 nanometres. The ultra-fine fibre is highly resistant to slippage, soft and stretchable, and boasts excellent absorbency and opaqueness. Sportswear applications will be introduced.

BIFF & BIL 2012, organized by Thailand’s Department of Export Promotion, will be participated by around 500 fashion, textile and leather companies from ASEAN and other Asian countries, including China, Korea, as well as the Middle East and Europe.

Teijin is a technology-driven global group offering advanced solutions in the areas of sustainable transportation, information and electronics, safety and protection, environment and energy, and healthcare.

Its main fields of operation are high-performance fibres such as aramid, carbon fibres and composites, healthcare, films, resin and plastic processing, polyester fibres, products converting and IT.

The group has around 150 companies and almost 17,000 employees spread out over 20 countries worldwide. It posted consolidated sales of JPY 854.4 billion (USD 10.7 billion) and total assets of JPY 762.1 billion (USD 9.5billion) in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012.
