To support its growth strategy North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT), a leader in lightweight prepreg materials, has announced the appointment of Technology Marketing Inc (TMI) as its distributor for the USA.

The distribution agreement covers the company’s complete range of prepreg materials and engineered composite products, including thin ply prepregs in weights down to 15 g/m2, conventional prepregs of 100-300 g/m2, multiaxial preforms and highly uniform carbon fibre tubes and machinable composite blocks.

NTPT's products are complementary to TMI's existing product range and the partnership is expected to deliver enhanced levels of customer service. The experience and technical expertise of TMI's team will support the continued expansion of NTPT's US business, the manufacturer reports.

Partnership

"We've seen strong demand for our products over the past two years and as a result we are putting into place a number of initiatives during 2016 designed to cope with this demand and expand our business globally," reports James Austin, CEO of NTPT. "With its expertise in our target markets TMI is the ideal partner to support this growth strategy."

TMI, headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT, offers a wide range of high quality materials and accessories specifically for the needs of composites manufacturers serving the aerospace, construction, automotive, marine, sporting goods and related industries.

“TMI are pleased to add the North Thin Ply Technology portfolio of materials and equipment to our existing product lines," said Pat McGill, President of TMI. "We are sure our customers will benefit from this interesting technology, allied with the TMI sales and support service which they already benefit from.”

Growth strategy

Headquartered in Switzerland, NTPT is preparing for significant growth in 2016. The company is currently relocating its Polish manufacturing operations to new expanded facilities, and in January it announced the expansion of its European distribution network with the appointment of Bodo MÓ§ller Chemie as its distributor for France, Spain and the Benelux.

NTPT’s products are used in a wide range of high-performance composite applications in the marine, motorsports, aerospace, sports and luxury goods sectors.
