Personal protective equipment specialist, Praybourne Products, has launched an exclusive range of coveralls using Protal 5 fabric from Waxman Fibres partnership producers. The innovative product was launched at the Health and Safety Expo at the NEC in Birmingham (15-17 May).

The coveralls have been designed and produced to specifically target the utilities as well as oil and gas industries, using the next generation Protal fabric to create a superior flame retardant garment which is extremely comfortable to wear.

Protal fabrics been developed over the last 4 years to offer enhanced multi-risk protection and  incorporate a unique blend of technical fibres which is patent protected and only available from Waxman’s licensed Protal producers. The performance of the fabric used by Praybourne provides a globally compliant solution (EN11612, EN11611 and NFPA2112) which has excellent metal rejection and electric arc performance.

Waxman worked in close partnership with Praybourne to produce three colours – navy, high-visibility yellow and high-visibility orange – designed to meet Network Rail’s requirements (GO/RT). According to Waxman, as well as being flame retardant, Protal complies with all necessary European and International safety standards.

“We are very happy that Praybourne has launched the first commercial Protal 5 product range of woven coveralls in the UK market. Praybourne is one of our longest standing partners in the UK and produces very good quality products,” commented Greg Cluskey, managing director at Waxman Fibres.

“This new Protal 5 product sets a new standard for cost-effective, superior, multi-standard protection. Praybourne has the expertise and knowledge to supply within markets which currently use unnecessarily expensive and often uncomfortable alternatives.”
