During his meeting with Mark Held, EOG General Secretary, Viktor Evtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, pointed out Russia had a very strong industrial base, high-tech equipment, and highly qualified specialists, and the country was interested in placement of orders from major brands. Besides, this was beneficial for the companies themselves.

Due to the ruble’s depreciation, the cost price of products made in Russia dropped considerably, the Ministry reports.

Participation at OutDoor 2015

Participation at OutDoor 2015 is an important step towards integration of the Russian light industry market into the world economy. According to the Ministry, Russian economy is interested in outward investments into the domestic outdoor business.

At the exhibition, the leaders of the official Russian delegation also had meetings with representatives of YKK, Adidas, and Gore. They discussed new opportunities to expand cooperation between the Western companies and their Russian partners. For Russia, this means extra budget revenues, capacity utilization and upgrading, more jobs, and production localization.

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has also initiated a collective stand of the flagships of the Russian outdoor industry titled The Russian Outdoor Village, which showcased Russian latest developments to an international audience.

OutDoor

The OutDoor has been the leading trade fair for a unique movement since the very beginning. It began as a niche trade fair two decades ago but has since developed into a global platform for a mega market. The OutDoor is the essential highlight for exhibitors, trade visitors and press and is the best indicator for the coming season.

In 2003, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) was founded by 19 of the world’s largest outdoor companies, holding its very first in-person meeting at the OutDoor. Driven by the idea of concentrating on a single, strong European trade fair, the decision was made to transfer the rights to the OutDoor brand to the EOG.

The concentration of the most important producers at a single leading trade fair in Europe created the basis for the OutDoor to grow from a German-speaking trade fair into the industry’s leading trade fair with global significance.
