Frankfurt
Anyone wishing to take part in the next Techtextil trade fair in Frankfurt am Main from 16 to 17 June 2009, as a symposium speaker, is now cordially invited to apply. Both symposia are taking place at the same time as the Techtextil fair, the International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens and Avantex, the International Forum for Innovative Apparel Textiles, which from this year is an integral part of Techtexil. The fair will open its doors in Frankfurt am Main from 16 to 18 June 2009. The lectures submission deadline is 31 October 2008.
The objective of both symposia is to create momentum for the participating sectors, support interdisciplinary communication and provide information on new developments and sample applications. The decision as to which lectures are chosen is taken by the programme committee, consisting of experts from the relevant sector.
Anyone wishing to submit a lecture proposal must first register on the website: www.techtextil2009.abstract-management.de. Proposals must be submitted in English.
Techtextil Symposium
Technical textiles can be and are used in every field. The market potential is correspondingly large and is associated with an ever-increasing demand for information from the different target groups.
The Techtextil Symposium provides an opportunity for interdisciplinary communication between manufacturers and users and to obtain sector-wide information.
The lecture blocks will deal with a variety of themes. The following is an example of what is planned:
1. Buildtech: textiles and textile-based materials and technologies for textile architecture membrane construction, protective structures, light construction, civil engineering and events
2. Material+Technology: fibres, textiles, nonwovens, technology, processes, coatings, surface treatments for technical applications
3. Medtech: textiles and nonwovens for medical and hygiene applications
4. Protech: textile-based personal protection finishes for workwear and civilians
Avantex Symposium
The latest developments and trends in new and innovative apparel textiles not only enhance their properties and, in turn, the application areas for the apparel but also facilitate new kinds of apparel. This is associated with an increased demand for information and communication. The Avantex Symposium is not only an opportunity for this but also a chance to engage in cross-sector discussions.
This year, four main themes are planned:
1. Fashion: modern materials and technologies in fashion
2. Material + Technology in apparel: advances in the areas of fibres, textiles, technology and processing
3. Sports + Outdoor: performance and lifestyle
4. Portable technologies / E-textiles: textile-based, portable electronic systems, sensors and controllers
The lectures will be taking place on 16 - 17 June 2009 (afternoons only) at the Messe Frankfurt Congress Center.
