Groz-Beckert has launched an iPad app called myGrozBeckert for weaving, knitting, felting, tufting and sewing, which it says will keep textile manufacturers up to date on the company's product range and provide them with a set of useful conversion and calculation tools.
Weavers for example who want to convert yarn counts and determine healds, drop wire weights and the highest row densities of drop wires can do so quickly and flexibly with the myGrozBeckert app and the Toolbox.
"Along with all kinds of general information, constantly updated films and numerous brochures, the yarn gauge converter tool is a part of the free myGrozBeckert basic app," Groz-Beckert said in its latest newsletter.
"All further functions can be enhanced at any time via the additional app Toolbox. The activation of the entire Toolbox costs a mere one-off charge of 2.39 Euro. There are no other obligations," the German company adds.
Functions of the Toolbox
Conversion of yarn counts
Deciding on the heald
Deciding on drop-wire weights
Deciding on the highest row density of drop wires
Conversion of yarn counts
Groz-Beckert says that whether tex, Ne, Nm, Td or dtex, it's never been simpler to convert yarn counts into other units of measurement.
Deciding on the heald
After selection of the feed eye, eye status and end loop, the user can decide on the ideal heald for their requirements, thereby increasing the economic efficiency and productivity of their weaving machine.
Deciding on drop-wire weights
Using individual yarn units and thicknesses, users can calculate the ideal drop-wire weights for their application.
Deciding on the highest row density of drop wires
Having entered the drop-wire thickness in mm users will get the maximum number of drop wires per cm and per inch.
The myGrozBeckert app and Toolbox which are available from the Apple Store in the normal way have sections on weaving, knitting, felting, tufting and sewing.
If you have any feedback about the app, Groz-Beckert will be happy to hear it at [email protected]
