Asahi Kasei Advance is to be merged into Teijin Frontier as a joint venture 80% owned by Teijin and 20% by Asahi.
Asahi Kasei Advance was established in 2015 as a trading company primarily handling products from the Asahi Kasei Group such as fibres, nonwovens and textiles, chemical products and construction materials.
Teijin Frontier is also a trading company with strong global procurement capabilities and the manufacturing operations to develop and produce high-performance fibres.
The two Japanese corporations have decided that a merger will be the most promising path forward, rather than pursuing independent growth for Asahi Kasei Advance, and the strengths of both companies will be leveraged to form a corporate entity with greater competitiveness and a solid foundation for growth.
Hangzhou Asahikasei Textiles, a Chinese subsidiary of Asahi Kasei which manufactures and sells textile products will be transferred to Asahi Kasei Advance prior to the integration.
