Verretex, a Swiss manufacturer of nonwovens made from recycled glass fibres, has entered into a strategic with Fiberloop, the Swedish developer of composites recycling machinery.

Fiberloop technology is currently used by a recycler operating in the boat-recycling sector in partnership with Beneteau, Chomarat, Owens Corning and Veolia, and these four companies all signed a partnership in March 2025, along with Composite Recycling and Arkema, with the aim of achieving circularity in boat production.

Verretex has tested the fibre recovered using the Fiberloop process and certifies that it is among the highest-grade recycled glass fibre currently available, demonstrating “exceptional consistency, strength and cleanliness”.

As such it is suitable for use in Verretex high-performance nonwovens which can be used in the wind energy, automotive and construction sectors, as well as for industrial applications.

As part of the new collaboration, Fiberloop will provide fully integrated composite recycling plants to companies and Verretex will purchase the recycled fibres from them on a long-term basis, ensuring they have both the technology and access to an end market for profitable and scalable operations.

“This partnership closes the loop for composite recycling,” said Verretex CEO Mitchell Anderson. “Fiberloop delivers the most advanced recycling machinery we’ve tested and Verretex has high-value applications for the resulting fibres. Together, we can provide recyclers with everything they need to build a viable circular business model.”

The two companies have already established partnerships with recyclers, equipment manufacturers and policy makers in Europe, North America, MENA and Asia.
