Calik Denim, an integrated yarn and weaving factory that supplies multiple international brands, has developed new Circular 100 fabrics powered by Lycra dualFX technology by Invista in order to create a better alternative to traditional jeans leggings fabric.

The specific fabric construction of Circular 100, suitable for athleisure besides jeans, has been developed to create a unique silky and soft touch inside, whilst offering elasticity and flexibility for increased comfort.

Jeans created with Circular 100 are lightweight, have a soft hand feel, and offer a “barely there” feeling when worn, according to the manufacturer. “The super stretchiness Circular 100 offers is due to its high elasticity in both weft and warp directions, which enables the wearer to move freely without limits. The fabric’s vertical elasticity also provides an amazing high waist fit,” the company explains.

Premium denim

Versatile Circular 100 fabric aims to enable designers to create jeans with a variety of looks that can be achieved by using different laundry treatments. Unlike conventional high elasticity denim fabrics, Calik’s new bi-stretch fabric comes in wider width (around 120 cm), features low shrinkage (around 2%), presents less creasing thanks to its vertical elasticity, and shows no elastane slippage for a premium look, the company reports.

Jeans and athleisurewear made with Circular 100 are eligible for free Lycra brand hangtags that are designed to drive sales at point-of-purchase. Lycra fibre is the best-known stretch fibre in the world, and its logo is a symbol of quality and durability for consumers, so be sure to take advantage of this value-added benefit.

Lycra dualFX technology

Lycra dualFX technology brand was developed in response to market demand for high-stretch denim fabrics that keep their shape. It is based on several patented technologies from Invista related to dual core yarns and bi-component yarns.

Typically, as fabric stretch increases so does the tendency for fabric growth or shrinkage. By combining Lycra fibre and Lycra T400 fibre together in one fabric, the company says it achieved the best of both worlds — the high stretch of Lycra fibre and the recovery power of Lycra T400 fibre, for increased design flexibility.

Invista

With leading brands including Lycra, Coolmax, Cordura, Stainmaster and Antron, Invista is one of the leading integrated producers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibres.

The company’s advantaged technologies for nylon, spandex and polyester are used to produce clothing, carpet, car parts and countless other everyday products. Headquartered in the United States, Invista operates in more than 20 countries and has about 10,000 employees.
