This newly created position reflects the continued growth of the company’s North American operations and will support communication between the company’s Valdese, NC, US, plant and its newly expanded textile operations in Ranlo, NC, US.

The company’s Valdese operations will supply tow dyed yarn to MSYG’s Ranlo plant to produce various end products, including craft and home furnishing novelty yarns.

Additional responsibility

In his new position, Rob Bratcher is responsible for customer service, production planning, inventory management and raw material coordination for both plants. This involves managing communication between both plants and upgrading the software and technology that will support that communication as well as general operations.

“We are delighted to have Rob take on this additional responsibility. He is a very strong leader, teacher, and mentor to all on our team,” said Tim Manson, president of Meridian Specialty Yarn Group. “His experience in the dyed yarn, knitting and weaving businesses, along with his understanding of systems, production flow and what it takes to meet our customer satisfaction goals, are invaluable to our operations.”

Bratcher has worked for Meridian Specialty Yarn Group for over a year. His background includes positions with Sara Lee in planning and scheduling for piece dye, fabric knitting, fabric finishing, and cutting room circular Jersey fabric and rib knitting. He also worked for 10 years at Burke Mills as Director of Customer Service, Distribution and Planning as well as SAP main frame implementation. He was also the yarn buyer and production planner for Barrday Corporation and a purchasing analyst for Valdese Weavers.

Expansion

MSYG, the leading manufacturer of specialty yarn in the US, is building a new manufacturing plant in Valdese, NC, USA, which is scheduled to open late 2017. In addition, the company just completed the expansion of its Ranlo, NC, US plant.

The new Valdese plant will provide additional manufacturing capacity for both current and new markets, and with the 2016 Ranlo plant expansion, MSYG recently launched the manufacture of wool carpet yarn. When open, the new plant will be the largest supplier of tow dyed fiber to the Ranlo plant.
