Pertex, a leading technical fabric brand known among outdoor enthusiasts for its lightweight and highly-durable performance fabrics, has been awarded the Outdoor Writers Guild Derryck Draper Award 2016 for its CS10 technology.

Pertex fabrics with CS10 technology use yarns with unique diamond shaped filaments, which lock together to provide a very stable construction. These tightly interlocking filaments are said to give the fabrics superb abrasion resistance along with improved water beading properties. While highly durable, these fabrics are also said to be exceptionally soft to the touch, down proof, and lend a beautiful sheen to the garment.

“We are extremely delighted to receive the Derryck Draper Award, in particular since we were awarded the very first Derryck Draper Crystal Award for our Pertex Equilibrium back in 1999,” commented Steve Laycock, Pertex Brand Manager.

Derryck Draper Award

The Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild was formed in 1980 around a small number of journalists specialising in outdoor gear, equipment and trade developments. The organisation's scope has subsequently broadened and now represents media professionals covering most disciplines of sustainable outdoor activity.

The Derryck Draper Award is given each year to an organisation considered to have made the most significant or innovative development within the trade. It is made in memory of one of the award’s founder members and selected by a small panel of gear testers and journalists, this year comprising Judy Armstrong and Chris Townsend who run gear tests for TGO Magazine and Graham Thompson who writes for Trail Magazine.
