Printful continues to expand its operations in Europe and has signed a lease to build a new fulfilment centre in Wolverhampton, UK. The new facility will take up around 90,000 square feet and is estimated to create over 50 new jobs during the first year of operations.

Currently, Printful has eight in-house fulfilment centres around the world. Four of them are in Europe – two in Latvia, one in Spain, and an upcoming facility in Poland. Printful has over 700 employees in Europe, and more than 1,800 globally.

“We chose the UK as our next location because it’s the largest e-commerce market in Europe,” said CEO and co-founder Davis Siksnans. “Printful has a loyal and growing base of customers in the UK who have anticipated our UK expansion for a while and we're thrilled to finally do it. Additionally, it will allow us to significantly shorten shipping times within the UK, making it easy to reach many new customers.”

The company is set to initially invest approximately £2.6 million in the new centre. It will start by providing services such as direct-to-garment, embroidery, and printing for home and living items, eventually adding other fulfilment options. It is set to be operational by the end of 2021.

By opening a facility in the UK, the company will be able to provide local fulfilment and faster shipping times – delivery within the country will take around 2 business days. This, in turn, will attract and maintain clients, for whom delivery time is essential.

In 2020 Printful achieved revenues exceeding $200 million and it has recently become the first unicorn company (valued at over $1 billion) with Latvian roots. Since its founding in 2013, Printful has delivered over 33 million items.
