As a key supplier of textiles for footwear components to brands such as adidas, Brooks, NB, Puma and Skechers, SinceTech, based in Jinjiang, China, has forged a close technology partnership with Karl Mayer for over a decade.

As a small city on the southeast coast of China’s Fujian province, Jinjiang is an important centre for the athletic footwear industry, home to many well-known domestic brands such as 361°, Anta, Erke and Xtep, as well as an important global production and export base.

SinceTech, founded in 1999, is also headquartered in the city, in addition to having overseas production sites, with vertically organised manufacturing including warp preparation, textile production and dyeing. Its textile production is extremely wide-ranging, with warp knitting, flat and circular knitting, as well as weaving technologies.

An R&D team of around 300 employees and five main R&D departments ensure advanced products that meet the highest market demands. Innovation work focuses, for example, on sporting goods with wearable electronic components for monitoring heartbeat, blood glucose levels and even perspiration.

SinceTech’s focus on unconditional customer needs, however, means first and foremost expanding quality leadership and the company is making targeted investments in its technical equipment.

“To guarantee leading quality, we use the best equipment the industry has to offer, including Karl Mayer warp knitting machines,” said the company’s executive director Xu Jintai.

In 2010, the company purchased its first double needle bar raschel machines from Karl Mayer. Today, it operates more than 400 of the company’s machines, including around 200 RD models.

For the production of the spacer textiles, Karl Mayer launched the RD 7/2-6 EN in 2019 and at the beginning of 2021 SinceTech acquired 120 of the popular seven-bar machines.

“The RD 7 has the highest efficiency in the industry with operation speeds as high as 1,100 rounds per minute, plus significantly improved yield and enhanced machine stability,” said Xu Jintai. “Nowadays, with surging shoe material orders, these machines can help us realise stable output and higher efficiency in order to seize market opportunities. “

By the end of 2021, SinceTech and Karl Mayer had completed the installation of all 120 of the RD 7 machines.
