The company decided to bring together each of its operating units under the one Catexel brand as part of its new communications strategy. The previously market facing Cequus and Chemsenti are now Catexel Cellulosics and Catexel Technologies, respectively.

“The rebranding reflects the dynamism within the business and the gravitas of what we do – as a collective committed to pioneering catalysts for change,” said Catexel CEO, Paul Smith. “The value is in the combined strength of all our entities so – structurally, operationally and visually – it made sense to bring everything together under Catexel and, in doing so, to show the true scope of our ever developing runway.”

Research and innovation

The company aims to create novel and commercially attractive ways with an objective of helping make industrial processes faster, cleaner and safer. For example, the company’s R&D team proposed that the chemistry used in detergents could also be used to make paint dry quicker, contributing to finding innovative solutions for the coatings market.

Catexel’s low temperature bleaching capabilities have also addressed environmental dilemmas for industrial cleaning markets and for the textiles sector, helping to save water and energy, reducing waste and offering valuable asset utilisation benefits, according to the manufacturer.

Collective effort

“As the paint drying example shows, our successes in one market are intrinsically linked to what we’re achieving, in parallel, in other seemingly unconnected areas,” commented Catexel CEO, Paul Smith.

“It’s this cross-pollination of ideas and lateral thinking that leads to opportunity. So, we’ve come to realise that we simply can’t separate our sector activities – the strength is in the science that links one application to the next and realising how that might be leveraged elsewhere.”

Together the team has already developed five commercial product platforms – of which Dragon and Pegasus are the best known - comprising 14 catalysts, accelerators and activators for immediate testing and adoption. And with a professional team, significant IP and a library of 3400 compounds for exploitation, Catexel aims to continue working towards finding innovative solutions.
