This year’s edition of the event will also feature high profile keynotes, insights from long time experts, panel discussions and workshops, with 180 industry professionals attending. The programme will address global market overview and update on key end use sectors like automotive, aerospace, pressure vessels, wind energy and space.

A selection of previous speakers include Volkswagen, Ford, BMW, SGL, Zoltek, Boeing, Airbus, Hexcel, Toyota Gamesa, GM, Lotus, Lamborghini, Honda, DowAksa, Formax and Composite.

LCA of Lightweight Materials in Automotive Applications

The workshop ‘LCA of Lightweight Materials in Automotive Applications’, that will take place on the first day of the show, will be led by Prof Jan-Anders Månson, an expert in composite polymer tailoring, surface and interface study, process kinetics and rheology, and mechanics and internal stresses.

Extensive studies into life cycle costs for different lightweighting options will be presented. The workshop is aimed at providing information on how to make your material more attractive as a truly sustainable solution, as materials specifiers at end-users increasingly consider life cycle costs as part of their purchase decision.

So You Want To Build a Carbon Fibre Production Line?

The workshop that attracted over 60 attendees last year will be led by John Davidson, who will share his experience in the field of production of carbon fibre. In 2009 he set up his own company, Carbon Fibre Technologies International, to service an increasing number of enquiries for carbon fibre manufacturing technology.

The workshop will provide information on different topics, such as the financial impact, skill base, staffing requirements, infrastructure requirements, involved in setting up a new line for business managers new to carbon fibre, and seasoned production experts.

From precursor synthesis, through fibre production and curing, to building your line and managing the energy, materials and by-product flows, all these aspects and more will be covered during the workshop.
