Composites Europe presents process innovations and the latest ideas from the industry in an extensive supporting programme from 7-9 October in Dusseldorf.

Exhibited products will range from the production technology used in composites manufacturing to hybrid material mixes to the recycling of fibre composite materials. Experts will unveil their current projects at the world-class Composites Forum, the international AVK annual conference, live demonstrations and workshops.

Lecture programme

With the international Composites Forum, the trade fair offers a multifaceted lecture programme, organised by the VDMA Forum Composite Technology and its member companies, the Institute of Plastics Processing at RWTH Aachen (IKV), and other exhibitors.

One of the programme’s primary focal points will be production technology in composites manufacturing.

VDMA member companies such as KraussMaffei, Keilmann Sondermaschinenbau, Dassault Systèmes and Dieffenbacher, will lecture on the automation of logistics processes, preform production, economical manufacturing of thermoplastic structural components and various connection technologies, among other topics.

Production technologies

RWTH Aachen – with the IKV and other partner institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) – will also present new approaches to production technologies, focusing on topics such as 3D fibre spraying, hybrid composite metal components, and laser based joining and cutting of composites.

In addition, exhibitors like Chromaflo, Scott Bader, Evonik and Teufelberger will present an overview of their product lines during the forum – from materials to new findings on colouration of composites to testing methods for innovative lightweight wood and plastic based materials.

AVK Conference

The interplay between various materials will also be one of the topics at the International AVK Conference, which once again acts as the kick-off to Composites Europe.

From 6 to 7 October, international experts will discuss the advances in the composites industry with regards to production methods, as well as recycling and standardisation. International market developments and trends in GRP and CRP will also be presented during the conference.

Special areas

Visitors will be able to experience production processes, new materials and applications live at the two special areas at Composites Europe – the Product Demonstration Area and the neighbouring Industry meets Science area, which is being created in collaboration with the IKV Aachen and is celebrating its premiere this year.

In the spotlight will be current developments and highlights from the areas of process engineering, designing and quality control.
