Technical Fibre Products (TFP), a leading manufacturer of high performance nonwoven materials, will be exhibiting its advanced nonwovens at SAMPE China for the first time, when it takes place from 11-13 May.

The company will be exhibiting a selection of its innovative nonwovens, ranging from the latest lightweight thermoplastic veils, which are used in composite toughening, to materials that aim to deliver a high quality and functional surface finish in applications such as aircraft and sporting goods.

Conference

The exhibition, which is held at the Shanghai Everbright E & C Center, incorporates a conference programme. TFP’s Technology Director Nigel Walker will be speaking twice at the conference, firstly to highlight the function of TFP’s Optiveil and Optimat nonwovens in aerospace composites. Aerospace is a key market for TFP, as the company’s recent AS9100 accreditation demonstrates, and an area where TFP’s nonwovens are used extensively.

In his second presentation Nigel will also introduce the uses and benefits of TFP’s Tecnofire fire protection materials, illustrating how they can provide solutions for construction and mass transport applications.

Multifunctional nonwovens

Visitors to the exhibition can find out more about how TFP’s multifunctional nonwovens provide a wide variety of solutions for composites. These include enabling a high quality, resin rich surface finish whilst simultaneously imparting surface functionality such as EMI shielding, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, electrical conductivity and static dissipation, the company reports.

Additional applications include providing a barrier to galvanic corrosion, functioning as a lightweight, effective carrier or support for adhesive films, or acting as a resin flow medium to provide enhanced resin transportation in both inter-laminar and surface regions.
