Swiss textile printing expert Flag Print, which has specialised in textile printing for 15 years, believes the cooperation with MTEX Solutions, a leading Portuguese digital printing machines manufacturer, gave the company the flexibility to meet ever more demanding digital textile print needs.

Flag Print produces a range of applications including flags, mobile banners, point of sale, people management and visitor barriers, and exhibition display systems including counters, columns, umbrellas and lightboxes.

In 2012 the company decided to expand into the 3.2m wide market, with the MTEX 3200 digital textile printer. “Before investing in the MTEX at the end of 2012 we had only been able to print up to 2.5m wide, and we wanted to be able to create larger pieces with a better finish,” said Marc Brawand, Sales and Marketing Director.

Innovative and creative displays

“Our customers are increasingly looking for more innovation and creative displays. With the wider direct-to-textile print capacity we now have increased capability for solutions such as exhibition displays, mega posters and building wraps,” commented Marc Brawand.

“In the exhibition market, customers are making increasing use of aluminium frame systems with fabric panels which are easier to transport and don’t break. Lightboxes are also becoming increasingly popular, and we needed to go to the bigger sizes without needing to stitch panels together.”

“We had seen the MTEX 3200 at FESPA and went to VISCOM for a closer look. We were very impressed not just the quality of the machine and its output, but also with MTEX Technical Director Marco Sousa’s understanding of how we could use the machine to innovate for our clients.”

Unique solutions

Flag Print has produced casino table layouts, dog coats, home textiles and rickshaw roofs. With both screenprint and 3.2m wide digital printing in its stable, the company can now create unique display and flag solutions to virtually any size and specification.

The water-based inks are odourless and the output can be used both indoors and outdoors with vivid colour and durability.

“Our 12-strong team has the passion, the resilience and creativity to deliver on every customer’s needs. When something really unique is called for, we have the answer and we will keep the flag flying for direct-to-textile printing for many years to come,” added Marc.
