At the Functional Fabric Fair taking place in Portland, Oregon, from November 12-13, Noble Biomaterials, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, will introduce its Ionic+ Prism range of permanently antimicrobial fabrics.

Aimed at the healthcare, outdoor and sports uniforms markets,  Ionic+ Prism fabrics are produced in collaboration with e.dye, the developer of the Clean Color System for waterless yarn dyeing.

This collaboration has led to fabrics that offer the 99% removal of odour-causing bacteria for over 100 washes and in addition have been manufactured with 90% less chemistry and 80% less water than in conventional processes. They are also 100% recyclable.

“We’ve focused our investments and efforts on creating products in the most sustainable way possible – because once textiles are broken down and recycled, they’ll need to be rebuilt,” says Allon Cohne, Noble’s chief marketing officer. “Our goal is to provide the most sustainable option for that rebuilding process based on the most durable and responsible products developed in partnership with e.dye.”

Noble will also showcase its full suite of new Ionic+ performance technologies including Ionic+ Botanical with a plant-based antimicrobial fabric finish and the fully commercialised Ionic+ CoolPro fabrics with permanent antimicrobial benefits. The company is at stand 773 at the show.

Noble’s flagship brands, Ionic+, X-Static and Circuitex, are used by hundreds of licensees to provide odour elimination, infection prevention/management, biometric monitoring and conductive protection benefits. The company is a registered FDA medical device facility, an essential sole-source technology supplier to the US military and a US EPA-registered antimicrobial manufacturer.
