Emineo and Mimeo – solid solutions to fit and size

A well-fitting garment is not returned and is kept for longer.

French Fashion-tech company Euveka has developed Emineo, a connected robot-mannequin controlled by Mimeo, an AI-powered data-management software that helps to create and sell garments perfectly adapted to diverse morphology types.

It can reproduce an infinite number of morphologies to fully digitize and improve both performance and communication across the value chain – from design and conception to production and retail.

“Inclusion is the key to making industrial processes better and more sustainable,” explains Audrey-Laure Berghental, CEO and founder of Euveka. “A well-fitting garment is not returned and is kept for longer.”

In its 2020 report on inclusivity, for example, Stylight estimated that only 54% of the best-known brands produce plus size clothing.

“In an era of growing customer consciousness there is a need for more sustainable and inclusive models, and it is now up to production to improve the supply of adapted clothing items,” Berghental says. “Standardised fast fashion and ready-to-wear have been criticised for years due to their slow implementation of inclusive clothing items. Moreover, manufacturers are still struggling to supply clothes for the customers on each end of the spectrum. In effect, it is estimated that 30% of online clothing sales are returned due to fit or sizing issues, which generates gigantic waste and leaves many shoppers on the side-lines – whether they are male or female, tall or short, large or slim.”

According to a survey by Simon-Kucher & Partners, body positivity is the fourth most important point for choosing a more conscious fashion brand. 63% of those surveyed also want fashion brands to show their commitment to the planet by adopting more sustainable behaviour.

“In this age of hyperconnected consumers it is of the utmost importance for the fashion industry to adapt digitisation,” Berghental says. Indeed, the digital transition is considered by fashion executives as the biggest business opportunity in 2021. And this revolution is already well on its way, with a 15% market share for fashion e-commerce.”

Innovation can be found everywhere, she adds, from improved digital customer experience, websites, personalized items, 3D modulization, or catwalks using robots.

“However, there is a big missing link between the technology and the manufacturing process. The possibility to allow each creator to work on high-performance technological tools, to avoid repetitive tasks, and to be as close as possible to the demands of the market is here. But there is little overlap with the other parts of the supply chain, particularly when it comes to morphology and data. Innovation does not connect the customer to the craft-making process yet, and Euveka changes that, as a tool that optimizes both the fit and sizing of garments.

“By solving the sizing problem Emineo and Mimeo can positively impact the environmental return on investment of companies, with a 50% reduction of costs at the conception stage, a 70% increase in productivity and up to a 50% reduction of returned products.

Established at the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region since 2011, Euveka is a French fashion-tech company specialised in robotic technologies, morphology, and biomimicry.
