Freudenberg Performance Materials has started up a new geosynthetics production line in Changzhou, China, enabling it to supply regional customers with Enka materials for building, industrial and civil engineering applications. Freudenberg is also now able to serve customers in diverse technical markets with finished and semi-finished products.

This investment in China will significantly increase production capacity and will play a fundamental role in the development of Enka materials with customers in the region. It was inaugurated at an opening ceremony on July 13th.

The new plant complements existing manufacturing operations in Obernburg, Germany and Asheville, North Carolina.

Thanks to their unique 3D entangled polymeric filament structures, Enka materials efficiently answer challenges in the fields of acoustic, ventilation, drainage, erosion control, sports and recreation, vibration damping, soil reinforcement, bio-filtration and more.

Freudenberg acquired the Enka business through its acquisition of Low & Bonar in 2020.
