Trevira CS will showcase a comprehensive portfolio of IMO-tested, inherently flame-retardant fabrics at the Cruise Ship Interiors (CSI) show taking place in Hamburg, Germany this week (December 3-4).

For the contract and cruise interiors sector, the collection combines uncompromising fire safety performance with elevated design freedom and circular material innovation.

The curated selection of 27 fabrics has been specifically engineered for cruise ship environments and all are compliant with the stringent FTP Code 2010 Resolution MSC.307(88), covering applications ranging from wallcoverings and drapery to upholstery and bedding.

Unlike conventionally treated textiles which can lose their effectiveness over time, Trevira CS fabrics derive their performance from the intrinsic chemical structure of the modified polyester fibre itself. This ensures fire protection remains permanently embedded, delivering long-term reliability.

For the cruise industry, where passenger safety and brand differentiation increasingly go hand in hand, this inherent performance offers a compelling value proposition ensuring designers and specifiers are no longer forced to choose between aesthetics and compliance. By developing fabrics that combine refined textures with structural flame resistance, Trevira CS enables interior concepts that are visually sophisticated yet fully aligned with international maritime safety standards. Trevira CS articles also undergo rigorous trademark testing to confirm both material authenticity and consistent fire safety performance.

Beyond safety, the presentation will highlight enhanced suitability for both interior and exterior cruise environments. Modified filament yarns featuring flame-retardant and UV-stabilised properties extend performance to outdoor areas exposed to intense sunlight and variable weather conditions. Available in nearly 30 spun-dyed colourways, these yarns allow designers to realise rich visual palettes without compromising technical integrity.

Under the Trevira CS eco trademark, the brand also offers fabric options containing at least 50% recycled materials, supported by Global Recycled Standard (GRs) certification.

The visual identity of the company’s stand in Hamburg – echoed in boarding pass themed graphics and the ‘Your ticket to a safe cruise’ message – aims to resonate with specifiers seeking to future-proof their material choices.
