Radici Yarn SpA, an Italian company belonging to the Radici Group Fibres business, has obtained UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certification for its environmental management system related to the development, manufacture and marketing of polyamide 6 polymer and polyamide 6 and 66 master batches, staple fibre and continuous filament yarn at its Villa d'Ogna (BG) and Pistoia (PT) production sites.

The company says that this certification was a very important step for Radici Yarn, which is one of most well-known and trusted manufacturers of polyamide 6 and 66 (Radilon®) POY, FDY and FOY used for weaving, texturing and circular, warped and seamless knitting, as well as polyamide 6 (Radilon®) staple, tow and master batches. Certitex, an independent certification organization for the textile and clothing industry in Italy and around the world, audited Radici Yarn polyamide 6 polymerization, POY and FOY spinning, staple spinning and master batch production at the Villa d'Ogna site and the polyamide 66 POY spinning process at the PIstoia site. At both sites Certitex also checked the sorting, packaging and shipping processes.

"We want to make a tangible contribution to the safeguarding and improvement of our environment and the use of its natural resources, while ensuring the total sustainability of the Group’s manufacturing activities,” said Oscar Novali, Radici Yarn Managing Director.

“As required by the standard, we defined our environmental goals and objectives and implemented a system that could effectively avert and manage the most significant negative environmental impacts of the various industrial activities carried on at our production sites. This was a key step in putting our environmental agenda into practice. Operating on a global scale with an environmental management system compliant with the ISO 14001 standard is of primary importance in creating added value for our enterprises both in today's market and the market of the future. The market demands increasingly greater assurance, and thus certification has become a differentiating factor. We are committed to environmental protection and pollution prevention and they are fundamental components of our business management system."

Radici Yarn’s commitment to the environment is part of a comprehensive Radici Group environmental policy.
