Milliken, a leading flooring manufacturer, has announced the opening of the Milliken Distribution Center in LaGrange, Georgia, in its former administrative and design building.

The 143,000-square-foot facility will help accommodate the company’s growing product line, which now includes luxury vinyl tile, along with its traditional broadloom, modular carpet and entryway solutions. The distribution centre is slated to begin operating today.

Repurposing of facility

“As Milliken grows in the market, it is important that we evaluate and when possible, adopt our existing facilities. With the repurposing of this facility in LaGrange, we are able to support the community and continue to make a positive economic impact,” said Jim McCallum, president of the global Milliken floor covering division.

“The Milliken Distribution Center is a key part of our company’s presence in LaGrange. We want to see the facility have the greatest sense of purpose and use. We’re thrilled that our growing product line now requires it.”

Milliken facilities

Milliken has been an important part of the LaGrange community since 1968. According to the manufacturer, repurposing the building as a distribution centre makes meaningful and sustainable use of the company’s existing facilities and builds upon its community relationships.

Milliken continues to operate multiple facilities throughout Troup County that include not only the manufacturing of floor covering but also technical and performance textiles.
