Huddersfield, UK-based carpet tile manufacturer Phoenox Textiles is currently installing a £2 million printing line consisting of a Zimmer Chromojet 800 printing machine and a colour kitchen.

With the groundworks now finished, the installation team from Zimmer in Austria is working to complete commissioning of the mammoth machine by April.

“The new line will give us four times our previous print output and enable us to reach and service new markets, including contract and hospitality work,” said company director Charles Mosley. “The improved print and colours with this machine will allow us to bring further products to market using creative print. Through innovative and considerable R&D development, we’re proud to have created a high quality, eco-friendly range and with the financial support of HSBC UK, we hope to now reach new markets throughout the UK and overseas.”

Phoenox Textiles, founded in 1954, is one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of flooring textiles, with over 200 employees working across two sites in Huddersfield. For over a decade, the business has manufactured using recycled materials to create eco-friendly products for retailers such as John Lewis and Dunelm.
