Sorona showcase in Japan

Covation Biomaterials, founded following the acquisition of DuPont Biomaterials by the Huafon Group and based in Newark, Delaware, is showcasing a variety of new apparel applications using Sorona polymer and Susterra 1,3-propanediol during the Sustainable Fashion Expo at Fashion World in Tokyo, Japan this week (October 18-20).

During the show, CovationBio is highlighting the many solutions it brings to the market and collections in apparel, footwear, performance gear and more from global value chain partners.

Samples are from partners in Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan and include newly available Sorona synthetic leather made with a base of Sorona Agile circular knitted fabrics with Sorona bicomponent filaments. 

Also new is Koba, a faux fur, available in a variety of colours and styles, along with footwear samples made with Sorona fabrics and Susterra parts and carpet made with Sorona BCF.

A new Sorona fabric collection book has been prepared exclusively for the show.

Sorona is a 37% plant-based polymer that brings sustainable functionality and comfort to textiles. Combining flexibility, durability and sustainability, Susterra propanediol is a natural 100% plant-based diol ingredient used in footwear, outdoor apparel, performance gear and more.
