ISPO Textrends has announced the five winners of its awards in five categories for Spring/Summer 2027.
As the sportswear sector continues to evolve, the ISPO Textrends Awards serve to presenting the most innovative and forward-thinking products that are pushing the limits of functionality, sustainability and performance.
The awards are handed out twice a year and honour trends in the textile and apparel sectors, set by experts two years in advance. Participants can submit their most innovative apparel or textile products for evaluation by an international panel of experts and the winners are presented with their award at the ISPO Munich trade show, which will next be held from November 30th to December 2nd 2025.
The multidisciplinary textile jury emphasised strengths in sustainability, creativity and performance, all of which contribute to circularity in the industry.
For the Spring/Summer season, highlights include bio-based synthetics, mono fabrics and multi-functional performance features such as UV protection and cool touch materials.
Overall, the jury noted a heightened sense of responsibility throughout the textile supply chain. Textiles and trims have been developed to encourage brand developers and designers to consider the end-of-life of a garment right from the design stage.
From advanced base layers to groundbreaking outerwear, the following five award winners showcase the best in the sports textile industry:
Base Layer
China’s Heilongjiang Eppen New Materials has developed a circular knit crafted with 76% bio-based polyamide derived from renewable plant resources, reducing fossil-based material consumption by approximately 50%. Utilising energy-efficient, low-temperature dyeing technology, the production process achieves significant energy savings. The 20D Polyamide 56 yarn construction with 24% spandex delivers exceptional lightweight performance at just 100gsm.
Second Layer
Singtex Industrial, based in New Taipei City, Taiwan, has developed Ice-Café, a new cooling fabric that combines coffee grounds with nylon yarn, providing the fabric with excellent odour control, quick drying and UV protection properties.
Made with high-gauge single jersey crinkle fabric, Ice-Café offers four-way stretch and superior moisture-wicking performance. The irregular crinkle texture enhances breathability, providing a cool and comfortable wearing experience.
Outer Layer
Bosideng Down Wear’s Bosideng BioLuxe is a woven fabric based on 83% recycled polyamide, 12% recycled spandex and 4% organic mulberry silk and has been constructed to provide superior thermal regulation. It delivers 360-degree stretch for dynamic freedom and its PFAS-free water repellency instantly sheds water. The special weaving structure, unimpeded ventilation and silk’s innate softness complement the durability of the recycled polyamide.
Membranes and Coatings
StormST by eVent Technology is a PFAS-free three-layer laminate entirely based on 100% recycled polyester.
It consists of the flexible plant-based StormST membrane, a recycled polyester 50D taffeta face fabric and a recycled polyester jersey backer, and is finished with a PFC-free C0 DWR (durable water repellent). With mechanical stretch and a soft hand feel, the waterproof breathable fabric is ideal for outdoor activewear that requires mobility.
Accessories
For over a century, zipper construction has relied on fabric tapes, interlocking teeth, sliders and stoppers.
Notape International’s Notape Zipper is based on a new concept, eliminating fabric tapes. Through precision injection moulding, high-performance polymers are fused directly onto garment fabrics, creating integrated teeth without the need for stitching or colour matching. This development redefines closure systems for modern apparel.
