Acknowledging that the supply chain for medical healthcare materials and food packaging is of critical importance during the CoViD-19 pandemic, nonwovens producer Don & Low made the decision to close the woven textiles arm of its business on Wednesday night but said it will dedicate remaining staff to producing protective materials for the health service.

“Thrace group took all the necessary measures to respond to the increased demand for materials used on face masks, medical protective apparel and wipes. Our meltblown spunbond lines in Scotland and Greece are focused on the production of the above materials. Also, our Packaging division has responded by enhancing the capacity to supply maximum output in response to increased demand and more frequent deliveries of supermarket distributed food,” the company stated on its website.
