The first edition of Monforts World of European Textiles profiles a range of companies at the forefront of manufacturing in Europe serving a wide range of end-use markets – from high-end silk and polyamide fabrics for the luxury brands to nonwovens and technical textiles for digital printing, protective clothing, wallcoverings and more.

“Monforts technology is providing the full flexibility in coating and finishing that advanced European textile manufacturers now need to successfully negotiate the diverse markets they serve,” said the company’s Head of Technical Textiles, Jürgen Hanel.

Monforts customers featured in this issue include Arta, ATB, Bethge, Boyahanesi, BWF, Hugotag, GTA, Mariani, Riopele, Schoeller, Tapetex, Tinfer, Van Clewe, and Vaz da Costa.

The seventh edition of Monforts World of Denim meanwhile charts the latest developments from the global market leaders in denim production. Monforts enjoys a global lead in the supply of finishing technology for the denim industry and is currently extremely busy responding to the interest shown at ITMA 2019 in its new CYD yarn dyeing system for this market.

Monforts World of Denim. © Monforts“Every year, around 15 billion metres of denim fabrics are produced globally, to go into around 10 billion garments, with the key manufacturing countries being China, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Mexico and Brazil,” commented Hans Gerhard Wroblowski, Head of Denim at Monforts.

“Some 66,000 tons of indigo powder have been needed for this production, but until recently hazardous chemicals have been required to make it water soluble, and after dyeing, tons of wastewater containing these chemicals have been discharged into the environment, often without treatment. The denim dyeing process has been one of the major pollution problems within the textile industry as the demand for denim continues to grow – each of us already owning four or more denim fashion items. Now, however, things are changing, and Monforts is proud to be one of the companies pioneering this change.”

A. Monforts Textilmaschinen is member of the CHTC Fong's Group, one of the world's largest textile machinery manufacturers.
