Suominen, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, is launching Hydraspun Circula, the market’s first ever nonwoven made containing a percentage of recycled office paper blended with virgin fibres.
Hydraspun Circula is biodegradable, plastic-free and while initially intended for moist toilet tissue (MTT) products, is suitable for multiple applications.
The wetlaid, 60gsm product was created in cooperation with Codi Group, one of Europe’s leading wet wipe producers, drawing on the industry expertise of both parties.
“It is important for Suominen to continuously develop new sustainable products to be able to offer even more choices to our customers,” said Johanna Kivistö, the company’s European category manager. “Hydraspun Circula is a perfect example of how we can develop our nonwovens with innovations and more sustainable raw materials. It is also a proof of great product development towards a circular economy without compromising excellent quality and functionalities.”
