In 2014, INDEX brought together 12,000 professional visitors from around the world and over 500 exhibitors. The 2017 edition will again welcome industry figures from around the globe who will converge at the Geneva Palexpo to see the latest cutting-edge advances in nonwovens technology and exciting perspectives on new applications areas.

New washable nonwoven fabric technology

At INDEX, Technical Absorbents will be promoting a new washable nonwoven fabric technology. The material, when used as a core within protective outer materials, can be laundered and dried with minimal absorbency loss. The fabric has been developed as a solution for different industry sectors including hygiene and apparel.

The company has also added a range of lower basic weight fabrics to its portfolio, which have been developed with external converters. Ranging from 20-80gsm, the new fabrics are an addition for those customers searching for cost effective thinner fabrics that still offer high levels of absorbency, the manufacturer reports.

Lower basic weight fabrics

Technical Absorbents has been creating super absorbent solutions for numerous application areas since inception in the 1990’s. As well as being the manufacturer of fibrous super absorbents, it has also positioned itself as a leading innovator of super absorbent materials. It has its own needlefelt development line and also works with a large network of converters to create bespoke fabric and yarn solutions to meet specific customer requirements.

“Over the past three years, Technical Absorbents has really been committed to furthering its product offering and strengthening its position in the industry as a super absorbent solutions provider,” commented Commercial Director Paul Rushton.

“What will be displayed at INDEX is just a small part of what has been achieved. The company is proud to offer a bespoke service to customers and many projects involve a brief and the development of custom made solutions that provide a performance advantage through the employment of SAFTM technology. However, it is important that innovation continues and the company brings to market new and exciting ideas that stimulate customers’ own development projects.”
