Owens Corning launches comprehensive Technical Fabrics App
Owens Corning supplies an extensive range of woven, knitted and specialty combination fabrics offering an array of innovative solutions for a range of processing methods. With a newly released app it is now possible to search for the company’s full range of fabric solutions, estimate thickness for a laminate of a single product, send a request for additional information and save favourites – all from the user’s mobile device.

Owens Corning, a leading producer of glass fibre reinforcements and engineered materials for composite systems, has launched the first Technical Fabrics Guide for industrial, marine and leisure applications.
This new free tool includes a material calculator and can be downloaded now from the App Store and Google Play Store.
Assisting customers
The Technical Fabrics Guide includes product characteristics, benefits and resin compatibilities for more than 80 products available in the European market. Featured products encompass unidirectionals, biaxials, multiaxials, various combinations, complexes, specialty mats and woven roving fabrics.
It is designed to assist customers, designers and engineers in discovering Owens Corning’s full range of fabric solutions to meet their particular end-use needs.
The material calculator
The material calculator enables users to estimate thickness for a laminate of a single product depending on the weight and fabric construction or, conversely, the glass content in a laminate to help identify the optimum solution for a given application. Results can be saved as favourites for future reference or used to send a request for additional information or a quotation.
Additional features include a Fabrics Terminology section defining 74 key terms such as drapability, twill, shear angle, as well as a News section.
Extensive range
This new, free App can be downloaded now from the App store for iPhone and iPad devices and from Google Play Store app for devices for Android.

The Technical Fabrics Guide is Owens Corning’s second Composites App, after joining the OptiSpray Solutions Benefits App released in 2013. There are also two Owens Corning Apps available in support of Building Materials products.
