The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) is to organize organize a technical workshop dedicated to Italian technology for the nonwovens and technical textile industries, in partnership with the Nonwovens Institute of North Carolina State University. The event will take place at North Carolina State University in Raleigh on November 11th and 12th, 2009.

At the meeting, Italian technical textiles and nonwovens machinery manufacturers will introduce their latest technologies and exchange views and ideas on technology with the main US companies involved in these sectors. ACIMIT says that technical textiles and nowovens are gaining more and more importance in terms of size, due to the technological features of their products and to their continuous offer of new and promising market niches.

ACIMIT estimates that about 100 of its member companies are involved in the production of machinery for technical textiles or nonwovens and says that the sector is seeing a steadily growing turnover, accounting for 10% of the total turnover of the Italian textile machinery industry.

“The Italian participants at the workshop in Raleigh are only part of the Italian supply chain for this sector. To find the ideal technological partner, textile operators should contact ACIMIT, where they can find out more about ACIMIT’s associate members operating in the sector,” says Mauro Badanelli of ACIMIT’s Economics and Press Office.

ACIMIT brings together Italian textile machinery companies, which collectively produce more than 80% of Italy’s entire Italian textile machinery production with associated members, including consortia, technical schools, technical magazines and research centres.
