TenCate Protective Fabrics will launch two new protective products in the TenCate Tecasafe Plus collection during the forthcoming A+A 2013 international trade fair in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Protective knits for company polo shirts and T-shirts are said to be extremely comfortable to wear and also wash well in industrial laundries.

A new protective fabric with a laminate will also be launched for use in flame-resistant industrial outdoor clothing. This fabric is designed to offer optimal protection against rain, wind and other adverse conditions, as well as to provide a high degree of wearer comfort and excellent moisture-regulating characteristics.

Protective and comfortable

TenCate Tecasafe Plus fabrics and knits were developed on the basis of a patented composition of fibres. As a result, this protective solution is said to offer improved moisture-regulating characteristics, which are better than alternative, synthetic aramid solutions.

The woven fabrics and knits dry faster than cotton alternatives with a flame-retardant finish. TenCate says it therefore  offers inherently flame-resistant solutions with unparalleled protection and comfort to workers in the oil and gas industry, the petrochemical industry and public utilities.

Optimal protection and use

TenCate expects the demand for protective and comfortable clothing in industry to continue to increase. This is due to changing legislation and regulations in respect of personnel safety in the workplace, and to the fact that comfortable industrial clothing in daily practice is more wearable.

According to the company, American and European tests have shown that TenCate Tecasafe Plus fabrics and knits offer greater protection and more comfort. Their flame-resistant characteristics are said to offer maximum protection against the dangers of industrial heat and flames.

Complete clothing systems

The introduction of the new knits and laminated fabrics has made it possible to put together complete TenCate Tecasafe Plus clothing systems.

Existing TenCate Tecasafe Plus fabrics are already used in protective industrial clothing, such as work trousers, jackets and overalls.
