UK based Sigmatex has announced it has secured the first of a number of targeted contracts for the automotive sector. The contract has been concluded after significant technical collaboration and development between Sigmatex, a major automotive OEM and an Automotive Tier 1 supplier.

Simon Green, Technical Sales Engineer at Sigmatex commented: “Through the dedication and innovation of the Sigmatex technical team working in partnership with the OEM and Tier 1 supplier, we have again managed to develop a cutting edge composite solution that will help our partners to continue to push the use of composites in the automotive market.”

The company says that this announcement represents one of a number of exciting opportunities that Sigmatex hopes to communicate in 2013 that are driving the unprecedented growth it is currently being experiencing.

Sigmatex is a leading converter of carbon fibre which has expertise in the field dating back to 1972. The company has grown rapidly to meet ever increasing demands for its products and services.

The Cheshire based business develops and manufactures carbon fibre textiles for composite material applications and supplies 2D woven, unidirectional, multiaxial (non-crimp) and 3D textiles across a broad range of industries from global locations.  Sigmatex's proven capability converts millions of pounds of carbon fibre each year for major projects that require high levels of quality and reliability.

“Sigmatex works with customers to create carbon fibre textiles which meet various requirements including fibre orientation, crimp, drapeability, thickness and resin permeability. These textile solutions often require an innovative approach to textile design and process which is the core strength of Sigmatex,” the company concludes.
