The fully natural and weather-protective Ventile Shell+ jacket developed by Mover, headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, has been awarded a prestigious 2025 Red Dot Product Design Award.
This recognition highlights Mover’s commitment to challenging the traditional boundaries of outdoor apparel by proving that high-performance gear can be entirely free from plastic.
Designed entirely from natural fibres, the jacket eliminates all synthetic materials, including plastic membranes, PFCs, PFAS and microplastics, offering a new benchmark in impact-driven outdoor apparel.
Constructed with Swiss-made, high-density Ventile cotton and lined with ultra-fine, thermoregulating Merino wool, it delivers natural weather resistance, breathability and warmth.
“We are incredibly honoured to have the Ventile Shell+ recognised with the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025,” said Mover founder Nicolas Rochat. “This achievement underscores our belief that sustainability and performance should never be mutually exclusive, but complement each other. The Ventile Shell+ proves that natural materials can meet the highest standards of outdoor performance while also being more sustainable.”
“Mover’s commitment to innovation and sustainability perfectly complements our ethos at Ventile,” added Ventile brand director Daniel Odermatt. “This award is a testament to what can be achieved when natural performance materials are paired with visionary design. We are proud to see our fabric used in a jacket that not only challenges convention but also sets a new standard for plastic-free outdoor wear.”
Key to the jacket’s design is its seamless shoulder construction, which maximises water resistance and ensures durability. The absence of plastic extends down to the finest details – metal closures are sewn with cotton thread, and even the zippers are free from synthetic materials. This attention to detail guarantees that the Ventile Shell+ is not only performance-focused but also fully biodegradable at the end of its lifecycle.
The combination of weather-resistant Ventile cotton and Merino wool creates a breathable, moisture-wicking microclimate that adapts to fluctuating temperatures, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable in all conditions.
Designed in Switzerland and manufactured in Portugal, the Ventile Shell+ represents Mover’s dedication to responsible production practices. By maintaining short supply chains and working closely with skilled artisans, each jacket is produced with the utmost care and minimal environmental impact.
