Alexium has announced it has appointed David Lambert, Lt Colonel US Chemical Corp (Retd.) as Process Chemist and Production Transition Manager in a move aimed at complementing the existing Alexium team’s skills.

“With the recent signing of the Duro Contract, which was announced on 26th April 2012, as well as Alexium’s relationship with the US Department of Defense, David’s appointment enhances the in house expertise and capability for commercial and military product roll-out,” Alexium’s Nicholas Clark, CFO and Company Secretary said in a statement.

“It also reflects Alexium’s enhanced standing in the marketplace.”

Key points about Mr Lambert’s experience are said to be :

  • A highly versatile chemist who has nearly 30 years’ experience in the supervision, design, development, manufacturing, product stewardship, application and testing of products.
  • Served in the US Military for over 20 years with vast experience in the Chemical Corps, Military Police and Air Defence.
  •  Extensive experience with both water-borne and solvent borne formulations, including elastomers, auxiliaries, dyes, coatings, and formulated products for a variety of applications.

David Lambert will also add in-plant trial experience, customer support, and process development experience.

Alexium is also in the process of hiring additional laboratory and development support, adding resources to accelerate the commercial roll-out of flame retardant textile products.
