Leading publisher of market research reports for textiles and clothing, Textiles Intelligence has added a new member to its editorial team at its international headquarters in Wilmslow, UK.

The company, whose reports can be purchased on this website’s Reports section, has hired Kate Lloyd in order to strengthen its editorial team.

Kate holds a BSc in Textile Design and Design Management from the University of Manchester in the UK. Her degree focused on the development of a range of woven and digitally printed kitchen and dining textiles based on original market research findings. Her studies also covered production management, textile coloration, textile testing and production processes.

Initially, while working for Textiles Intelligence, Ms Lloyd will be working towards the completion of her PhD in Textile Science and Technology from the University of Manchester. Her PhD research explores the use of thermochromic (colour-change with heat) colorants for textile applications. Her research encompasses the technological testing of thermochromic textiles, and their potential end-use applications in commercial apparel. Ms Lloyd’s main area of interest is performance apparel – in particular smart textiles and their commercial applications.

The recruitment of Kate Lloyd will help to develop the in-house editorial team at Textiles Intelligence, the leading provider of business information on the global textile and apparel industry. The team is led by Robin Anson – the managing director of Textiles Intelligence and internationally recognised as the leading expert in his field – and is supported by Guillaume Brocklehurst and Shaheda Khanom.

Commenting on this latest appointment, Robin Anson said: “We are committed to maintaining the excellent standards set by our former owner, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). The appointment of Kate Lloyd marks an important step in furthering this commitment while building upon our established reputation as leading providers of data, information and insight in the areas of textile and apparel industry economics, management, marketing, business strategy, trade trends and production by enhancing our expertise in the increasingly important areas of design innovation, coloration, home textiles and smart textiles.”
