The company develops and produces electronic textiles for diverse markets, from industrial applications to fashion. The company’s  efforts in conductive yarns, sensors, heating, and illuminated textiles will be presented at Avantex trade fair for high-tech fabrics for fashion.

E-broidery illuminated textiles

Forster Rohner achieves illuminated textiles on fine sheer, heavy wool or technical fabrics and with its industrial embroidery machines a great variety of items are realized – from panels up to 7 metres long, specific sewing patterns, and ornamental motifs to fine textile edges.

After the launch of e-broidery illuminated panels in May 2015, these products are used in large scale for the first time, the company reports. At three key points - in the forum, the catwalk and the hallways - visitors will come across large scale illuminated curtains and panels with over 4500 subtly integrated LEDs.

Applications

The textile quality of the products and the retention of core textile properties like robustness, drape and washability lie in focus of the work on textile electronics, according to Forster Rohner. After several years of development the well-established Swiss embroidery producer has been supplying the market with electronic textiles on an industrial production basis since 2013.

Forster Rohner’s developments are used in products like dresses, blazers or bags in ready-to-wear collections, sportswear with electronic muscle stimulations (EMS) revealing enhanced workout effects, or in drapes and washable fabric displays for interactive products.

Textile sensors, heating and conductors

Fitted to sewing patterns Forster Rohner Textile Innovations develops sensor and heating textiles from a versatile material portfolio of conductive yarns. Application examples are high performance soft sensor structures for ECG or EEG measurements or active sportswear with almost invisibly integrated electrodes into compressive textiles thus enhancing revolutionary workout effects.
