Sportswear giant adidas has launched a new footwear collection with uppers made entirely using the natural colourway of the materials involved. This eliminates the water-intensive pre-treatment phase of the conventional dyeing process in their production.

Three models make up the No Dye Collection, each inspired by styles from the adidas archive and primarily for golfers. The shoes maintain the high performance quality adidas customers expect while still having less impact on the environment in the process.

Adicross ZX Primeblue, inspired by the adidas Originals ZX series, also contains yarn with a minimum of 50% recovered ocean plastic and the ZG21 Motion model is partly made from recycled materials.

“We’re continually evaluating ways to reduce our environmental impact when it comes to our products,” said Masun Denison, global director of footwear for adidas Golf. “With this collection, we’re giving golfers another reason beyond just style and performance to feel good about the shoes they’re wearing.”

Adidas has committed to eliminated plastic from its products entirely and using 100% recycled materials by 2024.
