Jack Wolfskin’s latest Terra Rise waterproof breathable shell is the first product to pair Tencel lyocell fabrics with the company’s proprietary Texapore Ecosphere membrane made with reused/recycled pre-consumer and post-consumer waste.

The leading outdoor clothing brand claims sustainability has been an integral part of its culture and strategy since it was founded in 1981 and it has subsequently embraced initiatives such as sustainable dyeing processes and the use of natural fibres such as organic cotton and hemp in its products.

“The membrane of the Terra Rise is garbage – literally,” said Daniele Grasso, vice president of product and apparel at Jack Wolfskin. “By working with our partners at Tencel we have successfully combined a natural technical outer fabric with a recycled high-performance membrane. It’s a win for the environment and for anyone who wants to look incredible while operating in wet and windy weather.”

The Terra Rise 3L, available in a contemporary men’s hip-length and longer women’s thigh-length designs, delivers complete weather protection and functional features, including an attached hood, reflective elements for visibility, hand pockets and wide cuff adjustments. Over time, the jacket takes on a look of its own as it patinas through wear and weather exposure, adding to the individual appeal without losing performance attributes.
