Beximco, one of South Asia’s largest vertically integrated textile and garment companies, has partnered with FibreTrace to deliver complete supply chain traceability to its operations in Bangladesh and beyond.

Beximco is the most modern composite textile and apparel setup in Bangladesh, with the latest technologies across spinning, knitting, weaving, denim and garment finishing.

The partnership will see the Verified pigment technology of Singapore-headquartered FibreTrace applied to cotton, hemp, recycled polyester and recycled cotton fibre during the spinning process. It will be with the textile for life – through use, reuse, recycle and reimagination.

With the capacity to finish 100,000 yards of fabric per day and a stronghold on production in Bangladesh, the impression Beximco Textiles has on the global textile industry is undeniable. It is the country’s  largest conglomerate and maintains a strong presence among the country’s most prominent industry sectors.

The core of the FibreTrace Verified technology is a patented luminescent pigment that is embedded in raw fibres and is traced, verified and audited in real-time at each step of the global textile supply chain. This is achieved via a proprietary handheld FibreTrace bluetooth scanner that identifies and quantifies pigments in fibre, yarn, fabric and finished goods that send encrypted data into secure blockchain and software that was specifically designed and engineered for the textile and apparel supply chain.

FibreTrace Mapped is an advanced digital transparency solution which maps the global textile supply chain from fibre to retail, allowing brands, manufacturers and fibre producers to power transparency across all materials.

Yarn, woven fabrics, knit fabrics and apparel resulting from the partnership will be available as of January 2023.
