Syensqo, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, has announced a collaboration with French carbon fibre recycler Fairmat.
Fairmat will now recycle Syensqo’s UK carbon fibre prepreg waste, transforming it into valuable resources for the production of new products in the sports, energy, mobility and electronics markets.
“This new collaboration contract adds to our other recycling agreements worldwide and is integral to our comprehensive strategy to advance the circularity of composite materials,” said Gabriel Molina, sustainable development director at Syensqo Composite Materials. “In Fairmat we see a mature partner that offers a reliable and sustainable business model and we look forward to seeing where this new partnership takes us.”
“We are proud to partner with Syensqo and help the company achieve a sustainable outcome for its UK waste,” added Benjamin Saada, Fairmat founder and CEO. “With our proprietary and proven technology we will extract precious value from Synesqo waste products to create new engineered materials for high performance applications.”
