Özak Tekstil has partnered with Gerber Technology and its Turkish distributor Glengo for more than 20 years and is now installing the latest Atria digital cutter.

The Turkish manufacturer of denim and knitwear has plants in Istanbul, Malatya and Şanlıurfa and with 2,100 employees, exports almost 6.5 million products annually.

The new Gerber Atria cutter will enable the company to shorten its production cycles while improving the overall quality of final products for premium brands.

“Turkey did not manage the pandemic as well as other countries, but we are glad to see many European countries recovering as it accounts for 70% of Turkey’s textile exports,” said Mehmet Aykut Vural, CEO of Glengo. “Gerber has always been the leader in cutting technology, but the Atria is by far the best cutter it has ever introduced and will be a great asset for recovery in the European market.”

Özak Tekstil had already been leveraging Gerber technology from design through to the final product and the Atria enables it to better manage its supply chain by integrating the cutter with Gerber AccuMark and AccuNest systems.

“This new digital cutting solution can cut high plies with maximum precision at a never-before-seen speed,” said Güven Yalvaç, production manager at Özak Tekstil. “It is extremely important for us to have Gerber and Glengo as partners to provide continuous, timely support and ensure our machine is always up and running.”

The Atria cutter provides a more efficient and sustainable production environment for manufacturers with its ecosystem of software and hardware solutions. Since integrating the Atria, Özak has seen significant throughput increases and a reduction in the number of markers, which has reduced cutting costs, opened the spreading table and enabled greater production. The solution will contribute to the company’s smooth and problem free management of the supply chain – from order to production – by enabling it to easily adapt to the sudden changes and uncertainties in the current business environment.
