The presentation will address the use of advanced biomaterials in biomedical textile components and the challenges faced when engineered with current textile processes.

Future of biomaterials

Glasby will provide a brief history of implantable textiles, including the leap from textiles engineered with synthetic materials, to resorbable materials and the development of regenerative tissue scaffolds.

He will also discuss the future of biomaterials, including the benefits and applications of the resorbable bioelastomer poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS).
