The manufacturer of Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) will join hundreds of other companies at the event, which will be presenting their latest ideas and innovations to over 7,000 visitors from 3- 5 March 2016.

SAF technology

IDEA attracts nonwovens scientists, users, and senior thought leaders from the industry, while exhibitors display products from up and down the supply chain. The company will highlight the versatility of SAF technology and its suitability for use in a range of applications from hygiene and medical to filtration and cable.

“The diverse audience it attracts makes IDEA an event in the calendar not to be missed,” explained Product Development Director Dr Mark Paterson.

“At Technical Absorbents we have been manufacturing SAF and developing SAF based super absorbent solutions for over 20 years. We look at exhibitions such as this as an opportunity to connect with new and existing contacts within the industry, and discuss the latest developments and possibilities for our exciting technology.

Application

“The application of super absorbents has progressed a lot in recent years and SAF is already incorporated in numerous technical nonwoven fabrics and spun yarns. SAF absorbs up to 200 times its own weight in demineralized water and 60 times its own weight in saline at extremely fast absorption rates.

“We pride ourselves on taking this core functionality and working with clients from the ground up, supporting development programmes and creating bespoke absorbent solutions that are specifically tailored to meet their requirements.”

“We hope that we can share our technology with more people at IDEA, demonstrate the potential of SAF and create some exciting new ideas for its use,” he concluded.
