The Teijin Group has announced that its polyester fibre subsidiaries Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Limited (TPL), Teijin (Thailand) Limited (TJT) and transmission belt-reinforcement polyester-cord subsidiary Teijin Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TCT) have each received the National Occupational Safety and Health Award, the most authoritative safety award in Thailand, for this year.

The three Teijin subsidiaries were recognised for implementing various initiatives to enhance employee safety awareness, including a safety week during which company divisions shared information about their respective safety activities.

Safety and health

Since 1986, the National Occupation Safety and Health Award recognised outstanding initiatives in Thailand’s environmental, safety and health (ESH) field. Applicants are evaluated in terms of ESH policies and initiatives according to criteria set by the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Labour Protection and Welfare.

The three Teijin subsidiaries have been certified under ISO9001 for quality management systems and ISO14001 for environmental management systems. TPL and TJT have also received 18001 certification under the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSAS).
