Hohenstein Institute America has announced that Ben Mead has joined the company as Customer Relations and Technical Specialist.

“Demand for Hohenstein’s services has grown substantially in the few years since opening our US offices,” explained Dr Sam Moore, Managing Director of Hohenstein Institute America.

“Ben is a textile expert who is also a project management specialist and that is a very compelling combination of skills for our business. With Ben focused on the Western half of the country, we can effectively support the many textile and apparel companies west of the Mississippi who rely on our testing and certification expertise.”

Extensive professional experience

Ben Mead has a strong background in textile chemistry and textile sustainability – he previously worked as a Textile Sustainability Specialist at Bleam LLC, as a Product Chemistry Manager at Nike, and as a Business Integration Manager at Kreager Brothers Excavating.

As well as his extensive professional experience, Mead is also active in many textile industry trade associations and has contributed to projects sponsored by organisations such as the AAFA, Textile Exchange, AFIRM, and AATCC.

Developing reliable quality

In addition to his customer service responsibilities, Mead will represent Hohenstein in many of its textile industry collaborations including committee participation and board work. He will also serve as the Hohenstein liaison with several governmental agencies and trade associations.

“The textile industry is embracing testing and certification as critical tools for developing reliable quality, sustainability, and compliance strategies across the global supply chain,” Mead commented.

“Hohenstein services are collaborative, comprehensive, and cost effective and I look forward to helping my new clients leverage them effectively for their businesses.”
