Technical Fibre Products (TFP) will be hosting a second live webinar in conjunction with Composites World to introduce the company’s advanced nonwovens for fire protection. Titled Enhancing Composite Fire Protection using Nonwovens, it is free to join and will be held on 31 January 2018 at 2pm EST. To take part you just need to register here.

In the webinar Dr Mandy Clement, TFP's Technology Manager, will discuss how the combustible nature of composites means that they must be designed carefully to ensure that they meet stringent industry fire test standards. She will demonstrate how advanced nonwovens manufactured by TFP, known as Tecnofire, can be easily utilised to meet these standards, providing enhanced fire protection to composite structures.

As part of the webinar, Dr Clement will discuss a number of composite market sectors including aerospace, mass transportation and infrastructure, highlighting the relevant industry fire test standards for each and illustrating how Tecnofire can be used effectively in these applications through case studies.

The company is inviting those interested to register now at Composites World Webinars, to learn more about:

  • Composite flammability and the associated industry standards
  • Tecnofire, TFP's solution to composite flammability and how to incorporate it into your advanced composite structure
  • Real life applications of Tecnofire and how the product is being engineered to suit the next generation of applications

Dr Mandy Clement is the Technology Manager at TFP. The Tech Team is focussed on the research, development and commercialisation of advanced nonwoven technology for customer driven applications across a wide range of market sectors.

Current key activities include the development of lightweight flame retardant veils for aerospace applications along with the investigation of multifunctional thermoplastic veils for composite damage tolerance improvements. Over the past 15 years Dr Clement has overseen numerous industrial R&D materials based projects to commercialisation; she is a Chartered Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and has a doctorate degree in Chemistry from Durham University, UK.

TFP is a leading nonwoven manufacturer, offering a broad choice of high quality, technically advanced nonwovens for an array of challenging applications across industries ranging from aerospace and defence to automotive, energy, industrial, construction and healthcare.
