Leading supplier of polyester fibre, filament and specialities Advansa will present its new Thermocool products at the OutDoor trade fair that will take place in Friedrichshafen from 11-14 July.

These will include Thermocool duoregulation fibre system with Merino wool, developed in partnership with the largest manufacturer of worsted yarn Südwolle Group, and Thermocool eco2 with organic cotton, based on post-consumer PET, produced together with Sekem, supplier of high quality organic products.

Thermocool with Merino wool

Advansa Thermocool with Merino wool is a combination of Advansa´s duoregulation fibre technology with the natural characteristics of Merino wool, which, according to the company, allows garments made from this fabric to be worn in various activities whatever weather conditions.

The combination offers the possibilities of light, breathable and soft fabrics, keeping the wearer thermo regulated. Manufactured by Yarn in Motion (YIM), of the Südwolle Group, the prize winning ‘Ferntree’ fabric consists of 50% of each of these fibres and incorporates a new dimension in function to the natural Merino fibres.

According to Advansa, this fabric does not absorb as much moisture as pure Merino wool and is therefore well suited for highly active sports. It also insures a naturally effective odour control. The fibres are suitable for all kind of fabrics such as for circular knits, flat knits, seamless garments and woven fabrics guaranteeing enhanced comfort.

Sustainability with Thermocool eco2

Addressing the growing demand of the market for organic textiles, Advansa Thermocool eco2 is now available in combination with organic cotton, produced by the Egyptian Textile company Sekem Textile, the world’s only producer of Egyptian organic cotton, certified by Demeter, GOTS and Fairtrade.

The company is also certified to call their products CO² neutral. Its cotton quality includes GIZA 86 and GIZA 90, which is said to prove an extraordinary property, fineness and strength. “We continuously invest in the manufacturing of organic products where we strive to do all economic activity conducted in accordance with ecological and ethical principles. Sustainable development is our key value; therefore we are really delighted partnering with Advansa whose core value is also based on the aspects safety, health and environment,” commented Michael Haller from Sekem Textile.

The Semek Textile’s focus on sustainability corresponds with Advansa’s eco strategy to transform its polymer using sophisticated recycling technology to produce high quality polyester fibre qualified for use in apparel such as underwear, socks and others, like Advansa Thermocool eco2. Through this exceptional fibre combination, underwear featuring 50% of Advansa Thermocool with 50% of organic cotton helps to thermo regulate the body temperature throughout moderate activities and everyday usage in order to remain in the comfort zone.
